FARM MACHINERY UTILIZATION AND MAINTENANCE EFFECTS ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF COLLEGE FARMS

In order to expose students in tertiary institution learning agricultural science the concept of farm mechanization, which could aid self-reliance after graduation, federal government Nigeria has provided machinery make teaching and effective this regard. The focus study therefore is assess deployment, management maintenance effect on mechanization for sustainable development college farms Nigerian. population comprised all state colleges covered by trust fund (tetfund). Sample 24 offering education was randomly drawn study. A structured questionnaire used data collection. Data obtained statistically analysed using mean from a 4 point likert rating scale. Results revealed that out 252 available sampled colleges, 25 percent are tractor, 20 each plough harrow while 18percent ridger planter/fertilizer distributor respectively. response 2.4, 2.2 2.3 disagreement research questions shows there need improve utilization as well colleges.
